Laryngitis

Just think about it. One morning the snake wakes up and has laryngitis. The apple just hangs on the tree and Adam and Eve go about their day, oblivious as they so often were about everything. By the way, why is it they never tell us if the snake is male or female? No one eats of the tree of knowledge, the snake never recovers his voice, and shakes his tail end to no avail. There’s no bright apple in the bunch so Henry Ford is never born, there is no model T or any other model, no Ransom Olds so no one needs Akron or Ohio for that matter. You see where this is going, don’t you. Adam and Eve are simple vegans who spend all their time trying to figure out why they are there in the garden, why they are at all really, and recall that the old man who told them about the tree and the apple was something, but they’re too damn bored to invent language to describe it.
